The International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction ( ibstpi®) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides leadership to the community by setting the standards. The Board is composed of fifteen professionals of the highest repute in their respective fields of expertise who spearhead the research & development of standards, competencies, products and services. They are selected to broadly represent the constituencies that they serve. Currently, members represent universities, government departments, businesses and consultancies directed at the charge of the organization.

In recent years the Board has begun to expand its focus on the international aspect of its name and mission, with directors from the USA, Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia and India.
